Help us put an end to Adolescent Suicide Everywhere!

The Tyler Hudson Sonshine Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit foundation with the purpose of educating communities and individuals on suicide risks and prevention. The ultimate mission of our foundation is to raise resources and in kind services to start a treatment facility focused on suicide prevention, treatment and care for the whole person and their families and support team.

We promote the understanding and need for suicide prevention and community awareness, healing for attempted suicide recovery, bringing awareness to Attempted Suicides and Suicides regarding the LGBT community, Native Americans and the Military, Veterans and Retired Armed Forces Community and to fund the research into mental illness, causation, and its treatment.

  • Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the US
  • Youth suicides outnumber youth homicides
  • For every teen suicide death, experts estimate there are 25 other teen suicide attempts

Stop Suicide

Tyler Hudson Sonshine Foundation

  • National Youth Violence Prevention Resource Center found that almost 1 in 5 teens had thought about suicide
  • As many as 8 out of 10 teens who die by suicide try to ask for help in some way before completing suicide
  • Teen girls are more likely to attempt suicide, but teenage boys are four to five times more likely to die by suicide

The foundation focuses on:

Awareness education focused on: young teens, adolescents, at risk groups such as the LGBT community, military, native americans, first responders, parents and community leaders.
Finding opportunities to bring about positive changes in suicide treatments and prevention.
Helping suicide attempt survivors and their loved ones cope after a suicide attempt by helping to locate and provide both short and long term counseling and crisis management.
Providing survivor families and friends support and counseling.

Understanding that teen suicide warning signs are serious calls for help is important. Many teenagers share their thoughts and feelings in a desperate attempt to be acknowledged. Teen suicide is a very real danger, and heeding the warning signs can truly save a life.
